Kathryn D’Elia is a practicing local artist creating works that range from realism-focused pieces to invented abstract forms, vast collages, and playful pop culture content. She appreciates the beauty in the grotesque as much as the sublime in the mundane. A growing number of her pieces are mixtures of the experiences of fear and wonder, where they meet and where they blend.

Kathryn is a champion for strong drawing and painting skills and conceptual thinking. She taught for several years at The University of Washington, Artistry, and at Perpich, all while also supporting Minnesota non-profits. She earned her BFA from Flagler College in Florida and her MFA from The University of Washington. D’Elia joined the Perpich community in 2018. Kathryn is very excited to get to work with Perpich students to foster the creation of well thought-out and well realized 2-d projects.
