***Due to the St. Paul teacher strike, this event is canceled. Thank you for your interest in attending Regional Arts Teacher-Leader, Hannah Edwards’ classroom observation. We will do our best to reschedule this before the end of the school year, however, given our spring schedule, it may have to wait until next school year. ***

REGISTRATION HERE

DESCRIPTION:
This day is a unique opportunity to inform your teaching practice through peer observation and includes an introduction to the new Minnesota Academic Standards in the Visual Arts. To accomplish this,

  1. We will observe Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Hannah Edwards teach her Visual Arts classes. The focus will be on how to empower students to utilize their artistic voices for social justice and change.
  2. Following the observation, Jeremy Holien will facilitate a discussion of our observations and then introduce you to opportunities to connect our observations into practical implementation ideas focused on the Minnesota Academic Standards in the Visual Arts.

You will take away new ideas and strategies for your classroom, plus have a better understanding of how the new Visual Arts standards relate to the classes you teach.

DETAILS:
The day is facilitated by Jeremy Holien, Visual Arts and Media Arts Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 6 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.
Note: The maximum number of participants is 10. Registration will be closed when we reach that number.
