Perpich English instructor a featured poet in new MIA “conversation”

Sun Yung Shin, English instructor and award-winning Minnesota poet, was invited by the Minneapolis Art Institute to write about a piece of art for its program, MIA Stories.

“MIA Stories is the museum beyond the walls, outside the frame, at the lively intersection of life and art. From behind-the-scenes buzz to inspiring connections with current events, it’s the museum in conversation.” Shin’s poem, “명부쩐–冥府殿 Myeongbujeon, the Hall of the Underworld,” was inspired by a work of Korean art “Ksitigarbha and the Ten Kings of Hell,” a silk painting on display in gallery 206 at the MIA. Congratulations, Sun Yung!
