Visual arts alumni invited to teach part-time

Sophie Theroux, an education coordinator for Grumbacher art classes at Michaels Arts and Crafts stores, is recruiting part-time instructors to teach fine art classes at Michaels.

Theroux says they are looking for artists who work in realistic acrylic painting and/or drawing. Instructors teach two-hour beginner level workshops for adults and children, and receive 90 percent of total class registration costs.
Qualifications include
ability to paint in acrylics (should have basic knowledge of acrylic paints; their properties) and/or ability to draw and teach with graphite and charcoal (with basic knowledge of materials)
desire and ability to market themselves and their classes
ability to create realistic artwork (landscapes, seascapes, still-lives, florals)
some teaching experience
friendly, outgoing, upbeat personalities
Painting and/or drawing instructor vacancies currently exist in Eagan, Richfield, Burnsville and Eden Prairie. Drawing instructor vacancies exist in Coon Rapids and Apple Valley. A painting instructor is needed in Woodbury.
If interested in learning more, please e-mail Sophie Theroux, Chartpak education coordinator.
