email@example.comBarden is retired from ISD 279 - Osseo Area Schools after serving 21 years as K-12 Music Coordinator in the district. She began her career teaching instrumental and general music at the junior high level, and has also taught other music classes at the elementary and high school levels. For the last five years, Wendy has been teaching the International Baccalaureate music class at Osseo’s Park Center High School. She has been honored as a Yamaha National Mentor Teacher, the 1992 Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) Band Educator of the Year, and 2013 Yale Distinguished Music Educator. In 2014, she was inducted into the MMEA Hall of Fame.In retirement, Wendy formed Segue Consulting Partners LLC, and has been working with music departments across the Midwest. Wendy is an active author, with many student and teacher resources published by the Neil A. Kjos Music Company.Barden holds B.S. and M.A. degrees in music education from the University of Minnesota. Her Ph.D., also from the University of Minnesota, is in music with emphasis in music education and musicology. She is particularly passionate about standards, assessment, and student engagement.Wendy and her husband live in Minnetonka, and are proud parents of two grown sons.

Toni Beckler has been working in schools for 25 years. Her roles have included technology integration consultant, technology teacher, library media specialist, technology integration specialist, intervention teacher, and administrator. These jobs have allowed her to work with all levels of students and teachers. She is a graduate of Iowa State University, Minnesota State University-Mankato, and the University of Minnesota. Outside of work she loves to read, garden, and camp with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs.

Ron Brown has over 10 years of experience in the Twin Cities working with communities and youth in education. He recently served as a Community Health Worker with Northpoint Clinic and Northpoint Health and Wellness, Inc. In his spare time, Brown is a local artist/illustrator.

Suzanne Bursh is lead administrative specialist and budget coordinator for Perpich Arts Outreach. She has helped to host numerous Perpich agency events, workshops and receptions. She studied elementary education at the University of Minnesota and pursued culinary training in hotel and restaurant cooking at the St. Paul Vocational and Technical School and baking at Dunwoody Institute.

Jeremy Holien serves as the Perpich visual and media arts education outreach education specialist. He works in professional and curriculum development, state standards implementation and assessment practices. He is responsible for statewide initiatives in visual and media arts education. Holien has specific expertise in technology integration, visual and media arts education curriculum design, distance learning, standards-based education and assessment and arts integration.

David Hurst has been working with youth in the community since 1993 as a mentor and educator, from youth choirs to youth ministry. Hurst started singing and playing music as a teenager in Peoria, Illinois. The release of his album was a game changer for him in the gospel music industry.

Kristi is a licensed K-12 Theater educator, teaching artist, director, and arts administrator. Kristi was Education Director at SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development for many years, focusing on equity, inclusion, and arts integration. As a teaching artist, Kristi has led hundreds of residencies in K-8 classrooms, most notably at the Honolulu Theater for Youth. Kristi contributed to the Development and Evaluation Guidelines: What to Look For in the Arts. Most recently, she was teaching at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, helping to restart their theater program.

Stephanie.Walseth@pcae.k12.mn.usStephanie Lein Walseth, Ph.D. is a theater educator, artist, administrator, and scholar with over 15 years experience working with students and artists of all ages. She is a founding core artistic group member of Full Circle Theater Company, and she has served tenures with Penumbra Theatre Company, Mu Performing Arts, Mixed Blood Theatre, and Sod House Theater, among many other professional companies in Minnesota and across the country. Stephanie received her Ph.D. in Theatre Historiography from the University of Minnesota, and her research focuses on theaters of color and issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion. She has served as an instructor and curriculum developer at Augsburg University, the University of Minnesota, and Penumbra. Her writing has appeared in HowlRound, Theatre Topics, e-misférica, The Baylor Journal of Theatre and Performance, and a brand new anthology from Palgrave Macmillan entitled Theater, Performance and Change.

Pamela Paulson, PhD, is one of the founding directors of the Perpich Center for Arts Education. In her position as Director of Professional Development and Resource Programs, Paulson is responsible for professional development programs at Perpich; connecting with state and national arts and education organizations; heading administration of the statewide Perpich Library; and collaborating on data projects for statewide arts education with CreativeMN.
Paulson recently completed a five year term as a Trustee of The College Board. She also chaired the College Board Academic Council and is past chair of the Arts Academic Committee. She was on the Steering Committee of the College Board National Task Force for the Arts in Education. She is the Minnesota representative of SEADAE (State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education), on the Advisory Committee of the Arts Education Partnership and a member of the Leadership/Governance Team for the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards.
Previously Paulson served as President of the National Dance Education Organization and the Minnesota Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (MN ASCD). Prior to her work at the Perpich Center she created and directed the dance program at Apple Valley High School and taught for seven years at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
