Perpich students and instructors will be at U of M exhibition

Perpich dance and music students, with instructors Janika Vandervelde, Mary Harding and Tory Peterson, will be participating in “Sustainable Acts: Mother Earth’s Embrace,” an exhibition sponsored by the Institute on the Environment at the U of M.

The opening is 4-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Institute on the university's St. Paul campus, 1305 Gortner Ave.
At the opening, Vandervelde, a nationally known composer, will be leading a sound ecology musical flash mob with Perpich music students and the students in the dance program.
A “MicGrow” green space table, designed and constructed by last year’s artscience/design students at Perpich under Peterson’s direction, will also be on display.
The exhibition will feature drawings, paintings, photographs, installations, sculpture, performances and multimedia works, films and videos and runs through January 2016. Installations will be at the Institute, the University’s Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library on the Minneapolis campus and at Instinct Gallery, 940 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.
