Theater workshop in July co-sponsored by Perpich and Hennepin Theatre Trust
Interested in networking with fellow theater educators and professionals working in the field? Want to know more about crafting a performance season, selecting a script, or designing a show in your school? Just want to see “The Lion King?”
Sign up for the 2016 Theater Educator Workshop in downtown Minneapolis July 19-20, co-sponsored by Perpich Center for Arts Education and Hennepin Theatre Trust.
The workshop begins the evening of Tuesday, July 19, when participants will meet for dinner and a chance to network with fellow theater teachers and professionals working in the field.
On Wednesday, July 20, participants will attend a full day of breakout sessions and a Q&A with members of “The Lion King.”
In the evening, participants will attend a performance of “The Lion King” at the Orpheum Theatre.
Wednesday's tentative breakout sessions include:
- Script Selection and Designing a Season
- Trends in Theater Tech
- Addressing Issues of Diversity in Theater Education
- Auditions and Casting
- Improvisation in Curriculum and Auditions
- Nuts and Bolts of the Rehearsal Process
The deadline to register for the conference is Wednesday, July 6.
