Learn to Fly through the arts: Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins visits Riverside
(ABC 6 News) -- A local school got a lesson in music through Taylor Hawkins, drummer of the Foo Fighters. And it's a type of lesson experts say is important for young students.
Riverside Central Elementary School is one of 68 Turnaround Arts schools in the country. I.J. Holton Intermediate school in Austin is another. The initiative through the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities encourages the incorporation of art, music, theater and dance programs in schools.
