Amy has been teaching math in various alternative high school settings since 1998. She has always had a love of math and tries to share that with her students. As a singer and improvisor, she has been known to break into song in order to make learning more fun. Sometimes the students actually enjoy it. Sometimes they stare blankly. Both reactions encourage her to do more. Amy has been working at Perpich since March of 2019. She has a BA in Psychology from Macalester College, a BS in Math Education and MEd in Special Education (SLD) from the University of Minnesota. Outside of school, Amy is still parenting her two adult sons, travelling with and without her partner, and playing with her three dogs–Oovah, Hiccup, and Psota.
