Tamara Pierre joined the Perpich staff in 2025 and is happy to be here. Born and raised in the Twin Cities, she has experienced life in inner city North Minneapolis, the suburbs of Crystal, Savage, and Burnsville, and rural life in Waconia and Buffalo, MN. Tamara spent eight years in the Navy and lived in states on both coasts as well as Texas. She is a mom to three: ages 29, 27, and 15. The youngest is in the Visual Arts program at Perpich and lives in the Delta Dorm, though they rarely cross paths on campus. Tamara comes from three generations of musicians; everyone in her family either sings or plays an instrument, some do both! She has a friendly dog named Sammy who is a four-year-old Havanese shi-tzu cross-breed who Tamara has been training to be a therapy dog. She loves photography, karaoke, crochet, and she’s learning to knit. Tamara also likes Beat Saber on the Oculus Quest, and other video games on the PS5, most recently Horizons Zero Dawn, which she finished (on easy mode, haha). She has also played several games and MMOs on her desktop PC over the last 25 years or so. She also likes board games and card games, jigsaw puzzles, trivia night, and various phone apps (Wordle, anyone?).
