DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION HERE \nDESCRIPTION:\nThis day is a unique opportunity to inform your teaching practice through peer observation and introduction to the new Minnesota standards in Music. To accomplish this\, \n\nWe will observe Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Erika Bierman teach gr 5 band\, gr 5 general music\, and high school world music class\, paying attention to areas such as instructional strategies\, formative assessment\, and/or teaching resources. Think about “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…”\nFollowing the classes\, Wendy Barden will facilitate a discussion of our observations and details in the new Minnesota standards in music. A special feature of this day: Erika Bierman will present research on both rationale and resources for programming band works composed by under-represented composers!\n\nTake away new ideas and strategies for your own teaching\, plus a better understanding of new Music standards. \nDETAILS:\nThe day is hosted by Dr. Wendy Barden\, Music Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 6 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.\nNote: The maximum number of participants is 10. Registration will close when we reach that number.
