SUMMARY:DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL VISIT – WAYZATA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION HERE \nDESCRIPTION:\nThis day is a unique opportunity to inform your teaching practice through peer observation and introduction to the new Minnesota standards in Music. To accomplish this\, \n\nWe will observe Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Karen Frawley teach gr 6 Band and gr 8 Band\, paying attention to areas such as instructional strategies\, formative assessment\, and/or teaching resources. (Band 6 has a concert on February 6). Think about “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…” Note that 6th and 7th grade band students are scheduled into like-instrument classes that meet every other day\, all year. 8th grade band students meets in a full band setting\, with two teachers in the classroom. Band begins in 6th grade.\nFollowing the rehearsals\, Wendy Barden will facilitate a discussion of our observations and how they connect with the new Minnesota standards in Music.\n\nTake away new ideas and strategies for your own teaching\, plus a better understanding of new Music standards. \nDETAILS:\nThe day is hosted by Dr. Wendy Barden\, Music Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 6 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.\nNote: The maximum number of participants is 8. Registration will close when we reach that number.

ALL AGES WELCOME.\nReservations are encouraged. \nPerpich Arts High School Studio Arts Department presents two exhibitions: “Weighted Blanket” and “Apples & Oranges” \nThe curriculum exhibition “Weighted Blanket” is showing in the Upper Gallery through April 3\, 2020. “Weighted Blanket” features artwork by every studio arts student at Perpich. The artwork was made for classroom assignments and showcases the range within the Perpich studio arts curriculum. \n“Apples & Oranges” features artwork from students produced on their own time\, outside the classroom. It offers viewers a glimpse into the young artists’ personal interests. The exhibition is showing in the Lower Gallery through April 3\, 2020. \nAnimation and cinema work screened throughout the evening in the Performance Hall.
