SUMMARY:THEATER EDUCATOR VIRTUAL JAM SESSION
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION HERE \nThe theater educator virtual jam sessions are an informal space of solidarity\, support\, brainstorming\, venting\, problem-solving\, and joy sharing from other folks in the field. Each session will be (loosely) organized around a topic of interest\, as well as time for general sharing. \nFEBRUARY TOPIC:\nThis month we’ll use our time together to share ideas\, resources\, and practices for taking care of our students and ourselves in these challenging times. How do we help students to focus on what is most important and stay motivated\, when so much of our work in theater has changed? How can we help them view themselves and their performances on film in healthy ways and not pick themselves apart? And how can we set healthy and reasonable boundaries for ourselves amidst compassion fatigue? These are just some of the questions we’ll wrestle with during this month’s jam session. \nWHEN:\nDate: Tuesday\, February 16th\, 2021\nTime: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nWHERE: Virtual – The link to join this virtual workshop will be sent to participants the day before the workshop. \nWHO:\nParticipants: This session is open to all Minnesota K-12 and College/University Theater Educators and Directors.
