This regular series takes place at Perpich Center for Arts Education. Each gathering features an interview and Q&A with a special guest\, provides resource lists\, and offers time in the Perpich Library to peruse our extensive collection of books by Native authors. Can’t make it to Perpich Center for the “live” event? Watch our website for resources and a video recording of each interview. \nOn Tuesday\, October 8\, we are pleased to welcome Thomas Peacock and Betsy Albert-Peacock to Perpich Center! \nThomas Peacock (Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe) has authored or co-authored many fiction books and books on Ojibwe history and culture\, education\, and racism. Betsy Albert-Peacock (Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe) was a faculty member in the Education Department of the University of Minnesota Duluth and has authored numerous children’s books. Together they own Black Bears and Blueberries Publishing focused on fiction and non-fiction books by Native authors and illustrated by Native artists. \nWe look forward to talking with Thomas Peacock and Betsy Albert-Peacock about their work and how K-12 educators can bring stories by Native authors and illustrated by Native artists into their classrooms! \nDETAILS: \n\nThere is no cost to attend the Native Authors series.\nLight snacks will be provided.\nA clock hours form will be available following the event.\nThe first 40 people attending this evening will receive a free book published by Black Bears and Blueberries Publishing\, and additional books will be available for purchase.
