DESCRIPTION:Perpich is excited to offer a series of five (5) summer Professional Development sessions for music teachers\, in-person\, at Perpich Center for Arts Education in August\, 2025. Each workshop will be filled with teaching resources\, strategies\, and experiences you can use in your teaching this fall. Come to one or all five! Separate registration is required for each workshop. \nFriday\, August 8 – Teaching Digital Music-Making \nDATE: Friday\, August 8\, 2025 \nTIME: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.\, plus optional off-campus lunch \nREGISTRATION HERE \nLOCATION (in-person):\nPerpich Center for Arts Education\nGaia Building – Glass Box\n6125 Olson Memorial Hwy\, Golden Valley\, MN 55422\n*Gaia is the white building label 6105 on the east side of Perpich campus by the soccer fields \nDESCRIPTION: This is a workshop dedicated to inspiring confidence and passion into the music production classroom and includes an intro to recording and producing music with the Ableton software. Intended audience is music educators of students in grades 6-12. Guest presenter is James Patrick\, Minneapolis. \nDETAILS: \n\nEach workshop will take place 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.\nThere is no cost to participate but a separate registration is required for each day.\nWater and snacks will be provided.\nAn optional networking lunch will follow each workshop. DESCRIPTION:Are you new to your role and/or ready to gain a deeper understanding of the newest Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in the Arts? The Minnesota legislature set the 2023-2024 school year as the implementation date of the new Arts standards. And\, effective August 1\, 2024\, Minn. Statute requires use of these standards in K-12 arts classes — there is no longer the option of basing curriculum on locally-developed standards. \nThis 1-hour seminar is the perfect opportunity for school leaders (and arts educators) to: \n\n\nLearn more about the Minnesota K-12 Arts standards and benchmarks\, and\nCollect resources to support the work of music\, visual arts\, media arts\, dance\, and theater teachers in standards implementation.\n\nREGISTER HERE \nINTENDED PARTICIPANTS: This seminar is intended for K-12 school leaders (and arts educators). \nFACILITATOR: The presenter is Dr. Wendy Barden\, Director of Professional Development and Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. \nDATES AND TIMES: This session is offered three times.
