DESCRIPTION:Classic Perpich Senior Projects – Theater Capstone 2026 \nSenior Capstone is a quarter long\, process-driven project required for graduation by the Perpich Theater Program. SUMMARY:DANCE PROGRAM PRESENTS "RISING EMBERS"
DESCRIPTION:Rising Embers \nFrom all corners of the state\, the dancers of the Perpich Arts High School Dance Program are happy to present “Rising Embers” on May 7 & 8\, 2026. The spring concert is the culmination of a semester of work emphasizing dance history\, dance composition\, creativity\, and inspiration. While learning different movement styles\, the dancers were introduced to various artists of the past. As they studied Bill T. Jones\, they considered his quote to “ask himself urgent questions”. The dancers incorporated this idea of urgent question as they created solos\, duets\, and trios. As the students studied other legacy dance styles\, these influences seeped their way into movement\, structure\, and inspiration. Congratulations to all involved with the show! \nTICKET RESERVATION LINK \nRising Embers \nChoreography by the Perpich Arts High School dance students\, instructor Mary Harding\, and guest artist\, Tumelo Khupe.

SUMMARY:THEATER ENSEMBLE PRESENTS ANGELA CARTER'S "COMPANY OF WOLVES"
DESCRIPTION:Angela Carter’s Company of Wolves\n– A devised ensemble theater piece based on short story – \nA provocative reinvention of the fairy tale of “Little Red Riding Hood”. Unraveling a feverish metaphor for the blossoming of a young girl’s sexuality and her subsequent loss of innocence\, the play entwines symbolism and metaphor using imaginative staging\, evocative soundscapes\, and theatrical puppetry to bring Angela Carter’s gripping folktale to life. Stories of beasts who hunger for blood and darkness\, prowling the edges of the forest path\, waiting for victims. A chance meeting with a huntsman turns an innocent journey into a seductive battle of wills. \nWho will win and claim their victim? \nTICKET RESERVATION LINK \n“The Company of Wolves” is a short story by Angela Carter from her 1979 collection\, “The Bloody Chamber”. It’s a feminist retelling of “Little Red Riding Hood”\, which focuses on the protagonist’s burgeoning sexuality and her confrontation with a wolf\, who is simultaneously a handsome huntsman. Carter’s story uses the narrative to explore the blurred line between human and animalistic nature\, the fear and danger women face\, and the female experience of entering womanhood. \nAge recommendation: suitable for ages 13 and up due to its suspenseful and potentially frightening content.
