DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION LINK\n \nDATE AND TIME: Saturday\, April 15\, 2023 from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nLet’s gather this spring! Let’s dance together and inspire each other with presence\, breath and artistry! Let’s deepen our self-awareness as both movers and teachers as we navigate teaching dance in this time. \n\nABOUT THE SUMMIT: This is the second half of this year’s Dance Summit. Part Two features Elayna Waxse\, freelance choreographer and dance educator\, and Helen Buck-Pavlick\, Fine Arts Education Specialist for Ohio. \nElayna will lead us in a class that contextualizes contemporary dance technique as an ongoing process of body awareness within larger ecological systems. Utilizing improvisation\, set phrasework\, somatic exercises and conversation\, we will explore sensation\, instinct and ease in movement. \nHelen will lead us in a workshop that will review the Social Emotional Learning Competencies of self-awareness\, self-management\, social awareness\, relationship skills\, and responsible decision making in conjunction with the National Artistic Processes of creating\, performing\, responding\, and connecting. \nWe will identify connections you are already doing and explore how to intentionally integrate SEL and Arts Standards with the dance practices and lessons you are already implementing.
