DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 2024 Minnesota Dance Summit 2 hosted by Perpich Center for Arts Education! \nREGISTRATION LINK \nDATE AND TIME: \nSaturday\, April 20th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. \nGUEST ARTISTS:\nCarlo Antonio Villanueva and Mathew Janczewski \n\nABOUT THE SUMMIT:\nThis workshop will explore legacy – personal legacy\, community legacy\, artifacts\, memory\, and more. Mary Harding\, Dance Education Specialist at Perpich Center\, has been working on teacher identity in her work – a combination of social identity\, personal movement characteristics\, and embedded dance histories. This work has been a background for thinking about the many recent developments in our dance community. Come together with a community of educators to talk about and record our histories\, both personal and shared. \nAt Dance Summit 2\, we will begin with a movement class taught by Carlo Antonio Villanueva\, a new faculty member at the University of Minnesota. Then\, Mathew Janczewski of Arena Dance and Studio Stories and Mary Harding will lead you in a session of remembering. We will have structures and questions and paper and markers – everything to begin the process of sharing your history. \nOur interconnectedness is both known and unknown.
