To accomplish this\, \n\nWe will observe Ahna Brandvik teach three sections of Elementary Drama classes (3rd\, 4th\, and 5th grade). We will pay particular attention to classroom routines\, rituals\, and community building. Think about your “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…” moments.\nFollowing the classroom observation\, Perpich Theater Education Specialist Stephanie Lein Walseth will facilitate a discussion of our observations and then introduce you to opportunities to connect our observations into practical implementation ideas focused on the Minnesota Academic Standards in Theater.\nYou will take away new ideas and strategies for your classroom\, plus have a better understanding of how the new theater standards relate to the classes you teach.\n\n\n\nDETAILS: \n\nThe day is hosted by Dr. Stephanie Lein Walseth\, Theater Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 5 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.\nThe maximum number of participants is 7. This regular series takes place at Perpich Center for Arts Education. Each gathering features an interview and Q&A with a special guest\, provides resource lists\, and offers time in the Perpich Library to peruse our extensive collection of books by Native authors. Watch our website for resources and a video recording of each interview. \nOn Tuesday\, November 19\, we are pleased to welcome Marcie Rendon (White Earth Nation) to Perpich Center! \nMs. Rendon is an award-winning author\, playwright\, poet\, and freelance writer. Also a community arts activist\, she supports other native artists/writers/creators to pursue their art\, and is a speaker for colleges and community groups on Native issues\, leadership\, and writing.
