Saturday\, February 18 is an all-day workshop on Disability Inclusion and Access in Theater Education. The day will include: \n\nA Director Roundtable discussion on popular musicals that touch on issues of disability\nAn accessibility-focused movement session with Karla Nweje (Choreographer\, Performer\, Literary Artist\, and Arts Educator)\nA workshop on Anti-Ableism in the classroom and theater with Sarah Kenny (Disability Inclusion Advocate\, Arts Administrator and Educator)\nCatered meals\nTickets to To Kill a Mockingbird at the Orpheum\n\nREGISTRATION FEE:\nYour registration fee will help offset the cost of the presenters and cover your catered meals. Think about your “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…” moments.\nWe will then travel to the high school to observe Glenn Morehouse Olson teach a combined Acting/Directing class for high school students.\nFollowing the classes\, we’ll enjoy lunch together. The Capstone Gallery Exhibition is entirely student-driven\, beginning with original concept brainstorming; stamina building as a studio artist in creating and critiquing artwork; collaborating with visiting designer to create marketing materials; repairing\, prepping\, and laying out their physical gallery space; installing work; marketing; committee duties for opening night; and removing and repairing of individual exhibition space. \n

DESCRIPTION:Perpich Arts High School Theater Department is happy to present “TMORA\, and TMORA\, and TMORA” \nTICKET RESERVATION LINK \nPerpich theater students will be screening Anton Chekhov’s short story film adaptations and performing selected vignettes of Luigi Jannizzi’s Museum Plays. The selected vignettes have been recontextualized to fit specific works in The Museum of Russian Art and will be performed as Immersive theater with TMORA as the landscape of the production. \nAnton Pavlovich Chekhov (29 January 1860 – 15 July 1904) was a Russian playwright and short-story writer who is considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. His career as a playwright produced four classics\, and his best short stories are held in high esteem by writers and critics. Along with Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg\, Chekhov is often referred to as one of the three seminal figures in the birth of early modernism in the theatre. \nLuigi Jannuzzi (November 12\, 1952) is a contemporary American comedic playwright. A native of New Jersey\, his plays Exhibit This! The Museum Comedies and You Make My Frame Shake! are the basis for recontextualization by Perpich Theater students. He is a recipient of two New Jersey State Council on the Art Fellowships\, two Geraldine R. Dodge Grants\, three National Endowments for the Humanities (2000 at Rutgers U\,. 1998 at Columbia U.\, and 1995 at The U of Vermont)\, the 1986 Goshen Peace Prize\, a 1998 and 2000 Finalist in the Eugene O’Neill National Playwriting Conference\, and a 2007-2009 James Madison Grant at Princeton University.
