DESCRIPTION:Perpich Arts High School Theater Department is happy to present “TMORA\, and TMORA\, and TMORA” \nTICKET RESERVATION LINK \nPerpich theater students will be screening Anton Chekhov’s short story film adaptations and performing selected vignettes of Luigi Jannizzi’s Museum Plays. The selected vignettes have been recontextualized to fit specific works in The Museum of Russian Art and will be performed as Immersive theater with TMORA as the landscape of the production. \nAnton Pavlovich Chekhov (29 January 1860 – 15 July 1904) was a Russian playwright and short-story writer who is considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. His career as a playwright produced four classics\, and his best short stories are held in high esteem by writers and critics. Along with Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg\, Chekhov is often referred to as one of the three seminal figures in the birth of early modernism in the theatre. \nLuigi Jannuzzi (November 12\, 1952) is a contemporary American comedic playwright. A native of New Jersey\, his plays Exhibit This! The Museum Comedies and You Make My Frame Shake! are the basis for recontextualization by Perpich Theater students. He is a recipient of two New Jersey State Council on the Art Fellowships\, two Geraldine R. Dodge Grants\, three National Endowments for the Humanities (2000 at Rutgers U\,. 1998 at Columbia U.\, and 1995 at The U of Vermont)\, the 1986 Goshen Peace Prize\, a 1998 and 2000 Finalist in the Eugene O’Neill National Playwriting Conference\, and a 2007-2009 James Madison Grant at Princeton University.

Plan to attend one or both! \nSupporting Text Reading in Arts Classes (4:10 p.m. – 5:10 p.m.)\nIncluded will be topics such as practice in phonemic awareness and phonics; vocabulary–fluency–comprehension; and instruction that fosters understanding and higher-order thinking. \nCreating More Inclusive Arts Classes for English Learners (5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.)\nThis session focuses on instructional strategies that increase understanding and communication for English Learners–for all learners. \nOur presenter is Dr. Wendy Barden. DESCRIPTION:Perpich Arts High School Musical Theater Ensemble is happy to present “Quilters”. \nTICKET INFORMATION  LINK \nPerpich Arts High School Musical Theater Program presents “Quilters”. The story of a pioneer woman\, Sarah\, and her seven daughters as they face life in the American frontier. Rather than a straightforward storyline\, the musical is presented as a series of beautiful tales and tableaux matched with musical numbers\, each presenting an aspect of frontier life or womanhood. The patches or blocks show “girlhood\, marriage\, childbirth\, spinsterhood\, twisters\, fire\, illness\, and death.” These patches are ultimately put together to form one dramatic musical tableau. \nRecommended for ages 12 and older. \nContent warnings: mentions of suicide\, miscarriage\, pregnancy\, mental illness\, and animal death. This show includes outdated and negative depictions of people and cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content\, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact\, learn from it\, and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.

DESCRIPTION:Perpich Arts High School Musical Theater Ensemble is happy to present “Quilters”. \nTICKET INFORMATION  LINK \nPerpich Arts High School Musical Theater Program presents “Quilters”. The story of a pioneer woman\, Sarah\, and her seven daughters as they face life in the American frontier. Rather than a straightforward storyline\, the musical is presented as a series of beautiful tales and tableaux matched with musical numbers\, each presenting an aspect of frontier life or womanhood. The patches or blocks show “girlhood\, marriage\, childbirth\, spinsterhood\, twisters\, fire\, illness\, and death.” These patches are ultimately put together to form one dramatic musical tableau. \nRecommended for ages 12 and older. \nContent warnings: mentions of suicide\, miscarriage\, pregnancy\, mental illness\, and animal death. This show includes outdated and negative depictions of people and cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content\, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact\, learn from it\, and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.
