DESCRIPTION:TICKET RESERVATION LINK \nNew Horizons \nThe exhibition\, “New Horizons”\, will feature work made during the 1st Quarter by every studio arts student at Perpich. The artwork is made for classroom assignments and showcases the range within the Perpich studio arts curriculum. \nDuring the exhibition\, a media screening will be presented in the Performance Hall at 6:00 p.m. \n“New Horizons” is a multi-disciplinary art exhibition featuring work created in the first quarter of this year by new and returning Perpich students. First-year students are in the process of developing new skills and learning about what it means to make artwork consistently. Returning students are getting back into the habit of making work and honing their vision. The exhibition represents the beginning of a year-long artistic journey. Students will be working in groups and creating a dance combination through the process of using an algorithm with icons to represent the dance. They will be incorporating the idea of function and iteration (CS/math terms). Groups will practice and film their combinations.\n10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Mary Harding will present a lesson to participants on using stories and dance to support literacy goals in the classroom. Participants will watch three\, 50-minute classes – one section each of grades 5\, 2\, and 3. Note that instruction in the music classroom is lead in English\, though some Spanish language will be used. \nFollowing the class instruction\, we will move off-site to get lunch and discuss elements of the instruction that might be applicable in your classroom. Lunch is pay on your own. \nHost teacher David Davis shares: From kindergarteners co-teaching songs from their own cultures to 4th and 5th graders composing original music to honor a community member on an instrument of their choosing\, creativity and student voice are at the heart of my self-design curriculum. My goal is to send the clear message that everyone is a musician regardless of technical skill or musical background. As a Science of Reading (LETRS)-trained educator\, I also integrate rhythmic and tonal literacy through sound-before-sight strategies\, supporting aspects of music literacy\, including speaking (improvising)\, reading\, writing (composing)\, and understanding (audiating) music. DESCRIPTION:Invisible Threads \nFrom all corners of the state\, the dancers of the Perpich Arts High School Dance Program are happy to present “Invisible Threads” on December 4 & 5\, 2025. The winter concert is the culmination of a semester of work. The dancers will demonstrate their creativity\, choreographic skills\, and performance expertise in student choreographed works\, a faculty work\, and a guest artist work. The works will range in style\, musical choice\, and intention. The dances range from dynamic to fluid\, from formal to fun\, with a range of intensities. Congratulations to all involved with the show! \nTICKET RESERVATION LINK \nInvisble Threads \nChoreography by the Perpich Arts High School dance students and guest artist: Davente Gilreath (Dance 2010) \n  \nPRISM Holiday Toy Drive – through December 8th \nThe Perpich community is again supporting a local nonprofit\, PRISM\, with a Holiday Toy Drive! If you’re able\, please bring new\, unwrapped toys between December 1st – December 8th. The collection barrel is set up in the lower lobby area\, outside the Tony Basta Gallery. Coming to campus for an upcoming event? Consider bringing along your donation for PRISM. You can also shop PRISM’s premade gift registries and have your donation shipped right to them. OR skip the hassle of shopping\, shipping\, and dropping items off! Donating directly to the PRISM Children’s Program fund allows for PRISM staff to fill the gaps in inventory and get exactly what is needed.
