5 THINGS TO KNOW: MINNESOTA K-12 ACADEMIC STANDARDS IN THE ARTS FOR SCHOOL LEADERS

Are you new to your role and/or ready to gain a deeper understanding of the newest Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in the Arts? The Minnesota legislature set the 2023-2024 school year as the implementation date of the new Arts standards. And, effective August 1, 2024, Minn. Statute requires use of these standards in K-12 arts classes — there is no longer the option of basing curriculum on locally-developed standards.
This 1-hour seminar is the perfect opportunity for school leaders (and arts educators) to:
- Learn more about the Minnesota K-12 Arts standards and benchmarks, and
- Collect resources to support the work of music, visual arts, media arts, dance, and theater teachers in standards implementation.
