Common Experience welcomed Korla Luckeroth Molitor ('05 Visual Arts) to discuss her journey since leaving Perpich and reflect on the lessons learned from her time here. "Push the boundaries of what you think art can and should be," she shared. Korla has definitely done that. Inspired by Italian sculptor Luca della Robbia and visual artist Andrew Wyeth, Luckeroth Molitor has married sculpting with the prairie, representing iconic farmstead barns in many of her pieces. She attended Kansas City Art Institute where she received a bachelors in fine arts in both ceramics and art history. She then attended the graduate program at University of Minnesota where she received a master of fine arts in 2012. She recently spent three years teaching Ceramics, Art History, and Approaching Art at Concordia University, St. Paul. Today, Korla is an active member on the local board for The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). She has a solar powered ceramic studio at her home where she makes her ceramic pieces and specializes in carving three dimensional items, even cake toppers. Korla also curates and manages two vacation rental properties, and is a licensed real estate agent. Learn more about her work at https://www.korlaceramics.com/ #PerpichAlum
