This year's workshop features presenters from the local theater community, including Peter Rothstein (Theater Latté Da) and Michelle Hensley (Ten Thousand Things Theatre), and theater educators from across the state.
This year's workshop will include 3 tracks: one for theater educators, one for students focusing on performance, and one for students focusing on design/tech. We'll also come together in plenary sessions throughout the workshop.
Theater Educators can choose from a variety of sessions including:
-Blocking a Show: What it Takes to Stage a Performance
-Making Creative Choices in Set and Costume Design
-Casting: Creating an Inclusive Environment
-Incorporating Differing Abilities in Theater Programming
-The Newly Revised Minnesota K-12 Theater Standards: What Teachers Need to Know
The student track is open to youth in grades 9-12, and will feature sessions about technical design, staging a show, and choreography. Students must submit both a registration and parental consent form (see below) to attend.
REGISTRATION FEE & PAYMENT PROCESS
Registration fee includes dinner and a ticket to West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater on July 17th, full access to session presentations during the workshop, and lunch on July 18th.
