Jila Nikpay’s Film “Objects of Love” to Premiere in December
December 17, 2020
A film written and directed by Jila Nikpay, Media Arts Instructor, will be premiering on ShortsTV on December 26, 2020. The film, Objects of Love (2020), is about 20-year-old feisty Roya floating between her demanding immigrant father and old-world grandmother. When against their wishes, she reunites with her estranged mother, she has to rethink her affinities. “The inspiration comes from my own mixed-race family, where negotiating opposing cultural values is an on-going event. The story is about an immigrant grandmother and her bicultural granddaughter and their tangled relationship. With this film, I wanted to explore an expression of love that is both tribal and individualistic,” said Nikpay.
Objects of Love will be premiering on ShortsTV on December 26, 2020 @ 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Central. Additional showings are scheduled for January 8, 13, 17, 26, and February 4, 8. ShortsTV is available in the US on the following platforms: DirecTV CH 573, AT&T U-Verse CH 1789, US Sonet CH 292, Century Link CH 1789, Frontier CH 1789, Google Fiber CH 603.
