Literary Arts Students Participate in Golden Valley Historical Society Golden Jubilee
September 18, 2024
The Literary Arts Department of Perpich Arts High School participated in the Golden Valley Historical Society’s Golden Jubilee Community Celebration and Open House on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The students were invited to perform their work and represent Perpich Center for Arts Education, viewed by the Golden Valley Historical Society as a key component of the city.
Danny Schiffer (Literary Arts 2025) was one of the students that performed. “The Golden Valley Historical Society reading went fantastic! Everyone there was very kind and welcoming to the Perpich Lit students and we all had a great time,” said Schiffer. “I’m very thankful we have opportunities to share our art with ‘the outside world’ so to speak. I know a lot of people stopped by the Perpich table, so I’m very glad I got to represent our school on a bigger stage. The museum is definitely worth checking out, as well!”
Dr. Kevin Lally, Literary Arts & English Instructor, was pleased with the invitation and experience for the students. “I was so honored that Perpich was invited to this event!” said Lally. “We are an integral part of Golden Valley and are so thrilled to perform in the community. What a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their work and passion with the world. We look forward to the next event!”
The Golden Valley Historical Society was established in 1974. Its mission is to find, preserve, and disseminate historical knowledge about the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota. They are commemorating fifty years of uncovering, preserving, and sharing this community’s vibrant past. The celebration on September 14th was filled with live music, captivating demonstrations, guided museum tours, and more as they highlighted the diverse groups that enrich our community. “Your presence at this event is invaluable to us, and we would be honored to have you join us,” said event organizers.
