Perpich Arts High School Music Department Presents: 24/25 Sound Works I
October 28, 2024
The Music Department of Perpich Arts High School presented the first concert of the year on Thursday, October 24th with a repeat performance on Friday, October 25th. The concert was a culmination of the work created by students in their small ensembles during the first quarter – both covers of songs and original works created within each ensemble. Congratulations to all the music students and their instructors on an incredible performance!
Kate Lori (Music 2025) was really impressed with the new students. “They are incredibly talented!” said Lori. “It’s amazing to work with them. It’s been really fun this quarter.”
Mia Tanner (Music 2025) was also pleased with how the students performed. “I think this concert was very special,” said Tanner. “I wasn’t sure what to expect heading into my second year in the music department, but this has surpassed any expectations I could have had by far! Each group brought something really cool and unique to the table, and there was this sort of buzz in the air – I don’t know if that kind of energy could ever be matched again. I’m immensely proud of everybody, and I have high hopes for the rest of the year!!!”
Indride Gifford (Music 2025) is a new senior at Perpich. “These concerts felt so amazing because there was a sense of actual respect, compassion, and accomplishment shared between everyone,” said Gifford. “I’m incredibly grateful to have been able to experience this.”
“Honestly, the first show was one of the best moments of my life,” said Mie Morimoto (Music 2026), a new junior. “I really enjoyed it! I’m going to really miss my first ensemble.”
Kaylee Davis (Music 2026) appreciated the talent and partnership of the other students. “I really enjoyed being given the chance to work with musicians of a very high skill level,” said Davis. “It takes something special to be able to collaborate like my peers do!”
“I really loved working with my ensemble!” said Anya Stoll (Music 2026), a new junior. “It was so cool to connect over music with a group of students who are also excited to grow with their talents.”
