Perpich Studio Arts Presents “Making Meaning”: Student Curriculum Exhibition and Media Arts Screening, “Beyond the Classroom Exhibition”, “After Hours: Faculty & Staff Exhibition”
February 20, 2026
Perpich Studio Arts students presented multiple exhibitions on Thursday, February 19, 2026 during the closing exhibition for “Making Meaning”: Student Curriculum Exhibition and Media Arts Screening.
“Making Meaning” featured artwork by every Studio Arts student at Perpich during their 2nd quarter. The artwork was made for classroom assignments and showcases the range within the Perpich studio arts curriculum. Works included prints, sculptures, photography, cinematography, animation, drawings, paintings, etc. Pieces were featured on the gallery walls as well as in a screening of cinema work in the Performance Hall on the first level during the closing exhibition.
In the exhibition statement, they state that “…falling into the new year, they created art manifesting their pain, joy, and resilience both as people and artists. As we continue our artistic evolutions, we celebrate the ability to create our own realities and fictions, deciphering the meanings we assign to our art and the world around us, letting our art metamorphose with the seasons.”
“Beyond the Classroom Exhibition” features artwork from students produced on their own time, outside the classroom. It offers viewers a glimpse into the young artists’ personal interests.
“After Hours: Faculty & Staff Exhibition” showcases the creative endeavors of any and all faculty and staff. In the exhibition statement, they state that this “show highlights how much creativity abounds here at Perpich. One can see it in the lifelong artist balancing art making with the ‘day job’. It is showcased within the family as subject matter, muse, and creator. We see creativity in the cross-disciplinary approach blending art and academics. Finally, we see creativity explored in the exciting freshness of new and challenging endeavors. No matter how one experiences Perpich, creativity is our lifeblood. Enjoy the show!”
In addition to the artistic pieces on display, there was also a faculty & staff variety show, featuring instructors in dance, literary arts, music, special services, and agency administration.
“It was a beautiful reminder that Perpich is a creative environment in every sense of the word,” said Rebecca Bullen, Arts High School Principal. “Not only are our students artists, the adults who surround them are artists as well.”
Congratulations to all the students, their instructors, and the staff artists, on a powerful and impressive exhibition!
