Speech and Theater Educator Rebecca Meyer-Larson to be Inducted into MSHSL Hall of Fame
April 7, 2026
Speech and theater educator Rebecca Meyer-Larson from Moorhead High School will be inducted into the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Hall of Fame on April 19, 2026.

Rebecca Meyer-Larson from Moorhead High School will be inducted into the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Hall of Fame on April 19, 2026.
Whether it’s directing a theater production or coaching the Spuds speech team, Rebecca has developed a secret recipe for fueling her students’ success. “A big part of it is building a community, telling kids (to) jump and promising that we’ll catch them,” Meyer-Larson said, “and making sure that you have (a lot) of great coaches, mentors, and alumni…It’s pretty amazing to watch what these kids can do when they start to believe in themselves.”
Meyer-Larson gives credit, too, to the support of her husband and her speech and theater colleagues in the Communication and Theater Association of Minnesota (CTAM). [They have] “provided inspiration to go the distance. Had it not been for [them], I would not have made it through the first decade, let alone the third.” She is currently in her 33rd season leading the school’s speech program – an achievement made even more notable by the fact that Hall of Fame inductees are typically retired.
In addition to her work at Moorhead High School, Rebecca has been involved in many Perpich Center programs including a member of the first cohort of Regional Arts Teacher-Leaders.
The MSHSL Hall of Fame honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence and long-term contributions across athletics and fine arts, recognizing those who have shaped student experiences and built lasting programs.
CTAM provides a unique support system for all communication and theater teachers representing small and large schools, elementary through high school, junior and senior college and universities. As a result of this bonding, the sharing of ideas, knowledge and philosophies benefits all members and communication and theater students throughout Minnesota.
Congratulations to Rebecca Meyer-Larson, and the MSHSL Class of 2026!
