Studio Arts Celebrates the 2022 Minnesota Regional Scholastic Art Awards

January 28, 2022

Perpich Studio Arts (Visual Arts and Media Arts students and staff) is celebrating another year of Scholastic Arts hard work and success!

We are very pleased to announce the 2022 Minnesota Regional Scholastic Art Awards! Congratulations to the Perpich Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention award winners and our hard working and inspiring teachers! With this list of impressive students, Perpich ranks in the top four schools in Minnesota of those receiving the most awards in all categories.

Rebecca Bullen, Studio Arts Chair and Assistant Principal, said, “Our arts and academic educators, and our community, are amazing in their guidance and support of our young Perpich artists. Our teachers foster and encourage an artistic learning environment, creative thinking, risk taking, AND making sure the submission process happens! Our students are phenomenal in their hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Everyone, receiving an award or not, needs to be recognized for this artistic learning journey. Being creative and putting your work out there is not easy. So to all – CONGRATULATIONS!”

Perpich 2022 Regional Scholastic Art Awards:
  • 7 Gold Key awards
  • 10 Silver Key awards
  • 29 Honorable Mention awards
  • 137 individual pieces and 18 portfolios submitted

Gold Key works automatically advance to national judging. In New York City, renowned creative professionals review Gold Key works from across the country. Jurors select work for national recognition based on three criteria: originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal vision or voice.

National Awards will be announced on March 17, 2022 at artandwriting.org.

The 2022 Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards will be virtual this year due to safety precautions during COVID-19.

Regional Scholastic Exhibition information: The Weisman Art Museum will be hosting a virtual ceremony for the regional award winners. Viewers will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Scholastic Art Awards, regional scholarships, and hear from artists in the community as we celebrate the awards.

The Online Ceremony hosted by the Weisman will be on Saturday, February 26th at 2:00 p.m. More details will be shared as the date approaches.
