George Terry Jr. started in 2023 as Assistant Principal at Perpich Arts High School. Before joining Perpich, he spent 12 years with Minneapolis Public Schools as a dean of students, college and career coordinator, and assistant principal. He began his career with Milwaukee Public Schools, where he worked for seven years as a reserve special education teacher.

At Perpich, George serves as testing coordinator, activities director, and a member of the Student Support Team. He supports residential life and oversees the school nutrition program, including Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program. George takes pride in solving problems, meeting students’ daily needs, and helping create a safe, positive, and conducive environment for students and staff.

George is a first-generation college graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Southwest Minnesota State University, a Master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University, and an Educational Specialist degree and principal licensure from Concordia University, St. Paul.

Outside of school, George enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, gardening, traveling, watching sports, and cheering on his children at their athletic events.
