In 2025, Ms. Mekka joined the Perpich team, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. A North Minneapolis native, her journey has taken her far beyond her roots. After moving to New Orleans, she earned her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in French from Dillard University – an experience that sparked her passion for cultural exploration and personal growth, driving her to create lasting impact.
For over 15 years, Ms. Mekka has been a tireless advocate for youth across Minnesota, working to unlock their potential and support their dreams. She values the transformative power of education and has dedicated herself to helping young people from all walks of life. Her commitment to community is also reflected in her role as a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of North Minneapolis.
When she’s not advocating for youth, Ms. Mekka embraces her love for adventure. Whether it’s traveling, exploring new cuisines, or focusing on health and wellness, she lives life with enthusiasm and curiosity. In her downtime, she finds peace and creativity in her artistic pursuits, with ceramics being her medium of choice. Shaping clay into something beautiful is not just a craft for Ms. Mekka – it’s a reflection of her own journey: patient, intentional, and ever-evolving.
