Mike Hodapp joined the Perpich faculty in 2023. He is passionate about learning new things and co-creating classrooms with his students. In his 11th year of teaching Social Studies and Math at innovative high schools in Seattle and the Twin Cities, he previously directed summer camps, oversaw programming at youth mentoring and empowerment programs, and worked as a youth social worker. He holds a B.A. from Oberlin College (Environmental Studies and Dance), a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University. A lifelong learner, he’s done additional graduate work in math and ecology.
Mike has practiced, taught, and performed contact improvisation dance since 1997, beginning with his studies with Ann Cooper Albright at Oberlin College and continuing through his work with Nita Little, the Seattle CI Lab, and the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, running and biking, reading, going mushroom hunting, and gardening.
