Board Member Mikal Nabors Says Farewell

Perpich Board Member, Mikal Nabors, has retired from the Perpich Board after two terms. His last official meeting was February 24, 2022. Nabors, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was appointed to the Board by Governor Mark Dayton. He was appointed in October of 2014 with an effective start date of October 7, 2014.

“I’m delighted to have been part of the evolution of Perpich,” said Nabors. “To see it evolve and grow to meet the needs of students, parents, and community while maintaining the highest of educational standards is something I’m most proud of. Perpich is in great hands and on the right track!”

Dr. Charles Rick, Perpich Executive Director, added, “I cannot thank Mikal enough for this time and service to Perpich Center for Arts Education. Perpich Center is in a better place due to his volunteer spirit as a member of the Board of Directors. Mikal has my deepest thanks for his support and kindness in serving as an advocate for arts education.”

Mikal Nabors is the Director of Events and Engagement at the Minneapolis Foundation. He’s a singing member of the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus and sits on the Finance committee, sits on the board of Avenues for Youth, is a Big Brother to Anthony for over 9 years, and has had a small tax practice for more than 30 years. Mikal is a graduate of Golden Gate University in San Francisco, and holds a B.A. in finance and administration and a Master’s degree of science in taxation.
