Educators Gather for Arts Integration Work Day

August 18, 2025

Teams from five metro schools, teaching grades 1st – 8th, came to Perpich Center on August 14, 2025 for the Arts Integration Work Day. Goals for the day were to 1) take away a working understanding of arts integration and 2) collaborate on lessons they will use during the upcoming school year.

The work day was facilitated by Dr. Wendy Barden, Director of Professional Development and Resource Programs at Perpich Center. After the workshop Barden commented, “What a productive day! Teams learned, brainstormed, shared resources, planned, and were very focused through the entire time. Just about every team had one teacher new to the school or new to the grade level team, and it was so beneficial for them to have this time to work together!”

Kudos to the hardworking teams from Anoka Middle School for the Arts in Anoka-Hennepin School District, Bethune Arts Elementary School in Minneapolis Public Schools, FAIR School Pilgrim Lane in Robbinsdale School District, and Global Arts Plus Upper Campus and Mississippi Creative Arts School, both in Saint Paul Public Schools.
