Ready to transform your arts education practice and successfully advocate for art programs? Join us for our workshop Data-Driven Excellence: Enhancing Arts Curriculum, Assessment, and Program Advocacy coming to Rochester and Duluth, Minnesota!

TARGET AUDIENCE: All K-12 arts educators (visual arts, media arts, dance, theater, music) and arts leaders!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

In this workshop, you will:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of interpreting and articulating data in arts education, empowering you to effectively advocate for the importance of arts programs.
  • Learn innovative approaches to curriculum development and assessment, using data-driven strategies to enhance student learning outcomes and ensure alignment with Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in the Arts.
  • Explore personalized learning and cultural responsiveness, tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs and backgrounds of your students.
  • Engage in collaborative networking opportunities, action planning time, and reflective practices to enhance your teaching methods and stay updated on best practices in data-informed arts education.
  • Take away a FREE book, Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us, by Susan Magsamem and Ivy Ross.

PRESENTERS:

  • David DuBose, Director of Fine Arts, Gwinnett County Schools, Atlanta, Georgia. DuBose actively serves on multiple advisory boards across the region with a focus on program development for the advancement of arts education and services for students and faculty. Among program support and professional development, a key role in his position is the assessment and design of curriculum in the K-12 Fine Arts Classrooms as well as the evaluation and development of student assessments related to that curriculum.
  • Jeremy Holien, Visual and Media Arts Education Specialist for Minnesota’s Perpich Center for Arts Education, specializes in the assessment and advancement of arts education programs. Holien leads standards implementation, professional development, curriculum strategies, and arts program development, fostering professional learning and innovative initiatives. He regularly presents on the cognitive benefits of arts education, using technology to assess student growth, and promoting artistic literacy to enhance learning outcomes.
