PERPICH DANCE STUDENTS PRESENT “WORKS IN PANDEMIC”

The Perpich Dance Program will perform on May 27 with a video premiere via the Perpich Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/perpichcenter. The event features work by Perpich dance students and guest artist, Gabby Abram, Perpich Class of 2015.

Seven dancers from across Minnesota came together in August, 2020. They became the Perpich Dance Company 20-21. As in other years, they worked to hone their physical skills, create new works, and perform the dances of their peers and guest artists. But this year, they were together in the studio for only seven weeks before filming WIP – Works in Pandemic. In that short amount of time, they have bonded as a group and blossomed as artists.

In their words, dance is a combination of artistry and athleticism, a way to express yourself in movement, art in movement, free space for thought, a break from reality, and a way to be their true selves.
