Perpich Center for Arts Education is hosting a three-session professional development opportunity featuring the work of Andrew Chapman. This workshop will focus on dance and film: the dancing camera, editing, and practical applications.

Dance Film is the perfect creative process for dance educators addressing the pivot from live performance to virtual or online presentations of student work. This three-session course will provide tools for site-specific movement generation, dance film production, and basic editing techniques. Each day, we will identify how these tools can be incorporated into lesson planning for practical classroom application. All you will need for this course is your choice of recording device – mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets highly recommended – and a creative spirit!
This workshop is open to dance and theater educators as well as other arts teachers interested in presenting in the digital realm.

Introducing Andrew Chapman
Andrew Chapman is a performer with site specific and immersive theater company Third Rail Projects. He is a current cast member of their critically acclaimed show Then She Fell. Andrew is also the founding producer of the Mobile Dance Film Festival; the first and only film festival to screen dance film shot solely on mobile devices.
