Four Perpich Students Earn College Board National Recognition Awards

Four Perpich Arts High School students have been named recipients of College Board National Recognition Program awards, earning honors for their academic achievement and strong performance on college readiness assessments!

Anais Froberg-Martinez (Literary Arts 2026), Rex Nicholoff (Visual Arts 2026), Kyungbin Park (Visual Arts 2026), and Geo Stevens (Musical Theater 2026) each received a School Recognition Award. In addition, Kyungbin Park earned both the First-Generation Recognition Award and the Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award.

The College Board National Recognition Program highlights high-achieving students across the country and helps them stand out to colleges and scholarship programs. Students qualify based on a combination of academic performance (GPA of 3.5 or higher) and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or Advanced Placement (AP®) exams.

Carol Syvertsen, School Counselor, said, “It is so wonderful when excellent students are acknowledged. All four of these young people are exemplary humans who I have loved getting to know since they joined the Perpich community. Their intelligence and diligence are now nationally recognized!”

Arts High School Principal Rebecca Bullen also celebrated the students’ accomplishments and the unique combination of skills they bring to their work at Perpich. “These amazing creative thinkers remind us every day that creativity and excellence go hand in hand,” said Bullen. “Congratulations to these amazing students for this incredible honor. I am so proud of you.”

The College Board National Recognition Programs create pathways to college for underrepresented students by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country. The recognition reflects the dedication these students bring to both their academic studies and artistic pursuits at Perpich. Awardees can include the distinction on college and scholarship applications as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

Rex Nicholoff is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and previously attended Minneapolis South High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kyungbin Park is from Buffalo, Minnesota.
Geo Stevens is from Coon Rapids, Minnesota and previously attended Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota.
