Perpich Arts High School Studio Arts Department Presents: “New Horizons” Curriculum Exhibition
November 7, 2025
Perpich Studio Arts students opened their second exhibition of the school year on Thursday, November 6th, 2025. The exhibition is showing in the Perpich galleries through January 2, 2026.
Titled “New Horizons”, the show features work made during the 1st Quarter by every studio arts student at Perpich. The artwork is made for classroom assignments and showcases the range within the Perpich studio arts curriculum. In addition to work on the gallery walls, there was also a media screening in the Performance Hall. Studio Arts students created the artwork, wrote artist statements, and prepared all aspects of presenting the physical exhibition.
Kathryn D’Elia, Visual Arts Instructor and Studio Arts Chair, said, “We are very proud to present our first curricular show of the school year! All these works were created in Studio Arts classes during quarter one. This show represents new formal undertakings, acclimation to a new school year, and honing in on their interests as artists.” In addition to the growth in the artwork, students develop their gallery layout, artist statements, and installation skills with each show. “It’s a wonderful result!”
“Our Media students presented an incredible collection of short films and took over the presentation of the film reel, the printed program, and provided insight into their thinking and process in a Q&A after the showing,” D’Elia added.

Rebecca Bullen, Perpich Arts High School Principal, celebrated the exhibition. “Their dedication, critical thinking, and artistic voices shine through in every piece, with the power of their written statements and the care they show in supporting one another throughout the process,” said Bullen. “It’s inspiring to see our community come together to experience and celebrate our students’ hard work, and the power of art to connect. Congratulations to our students and their teachers!”
In the exhibition statement, Leon Cabot (Media Arts 2026) shared, “The ‘New Horizons’ Exhibition is the first instance in which we can present the product of our quarter-long learning endeavors. All of our art, in any of its stages, demonstrates the persistence and passion we possess. Creativity is the machine under which we function as individuals; we express without restrictions, and we adjust to any difficulties thrown our way. From mistakes we mold masterpieces, masterpieces we use to rejuvenate the ever changing world as it floats along the continuous river of time. Every minute spent working on our passions is a minute spent towards advancing our knowledge of both the world and ourselves. Everyday we find new things to experiment with and new things that inspire us to engage with our respective crafts. We march towards a new experience as we move on from this first quarter and set our sights on the next. This year is like the rising sun, and we are looking at the glistening horizon, captivated by the opportunities laid out before us.”
Congratulations to all the students, and their instructors, on a wonderful evening!
