Members of the Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Network gathered at Perpich Center in Golden Valley for two days of intense professional development on March 4 and 5. Teacher-Leaders spent their days sharing best practices in their field and how to integrate those practices throughout a school, enhancing their classroom management and organizational skills, and discovering the importance of self and student identities. They worked collaboratively in their respective arts areas, creating tools and resources to support the implementation of the new Minnesota arts standards. They were also joined by Alex Liuzzi from PELSB to help them understand the new tiers of teacher licensing. This professional development was hosted by Max Clark-Vail, Regional Centers Director, and Professional Development and Resource Programs Arts Education Specialists: Dr. Wendy Barden, Mary Harding, Stephanie Lein Walseth, and Jeremy Holien.
