Student Films Selected for 2020 EDU Film Festival

The 2020 EDU Film Festival has selected two short films by Perpich seniors. The films will be included in this year’s streamed film festival on May 29, 2020.

Breath of Spring is about a young woman on a picnic who impulsively dances when a sentimental song plays on the radio. Dishwater Blonde is about a 1950’s housewife who is haunted by her husband’s mistresses.

Due to the Safe at Home orders, school closures, and other efforts that Minnesotans are making to distance themselves and flatten the COVID-19 curve, the EDU Film Fest will be a virtual event, streaming via Facebook and YouTube, live on May 29th starting at 10:00 a.m.

EDU’s Mission: By putting students together with filmmakers, industry professionals, and post high school educational institutions, the EDU Film Festival introduces the variety of film industry options available in Minnesota. The festival provides a time and place for emerging filmmakers to interact with each other, form friendships and partnerships, and to create a professional network of peers. EDU aims to provide young filmmakers with an authentic film festival experience, a valuable understanding of the film industry, and an opportunity to see their movies play on the big screen.
