Theater educators and directors, visual and media arts teachers, and more, gathered at Duluth East High School on April 5-6 to experience the Theater Projection Workshop with Daniel Benoit. The 16 participants came from the Duluth region and beyond (Duluth, Hermantown, Cloquet, Hibbing, Hinckley-Finlayson, Buffalo, and St. Louis Park.) Organized by Stephanie Lein Walseth, PhD, Theater Education Specialist, the workshop was an introduction to projection design for theater using Isadora, a tool for artists, designers, and performers who want to add video and interactive media to their performance projects. Comments included: “At last, actual training I can use in my Theatre program at an affordable price.” “I was curious about the use of projection technology for our high school productions and interested in the opportunity to meet and connect with other fine arts professionals in the area.”
