Dedication Day 2020

October 12, 2020

Dedication Day at Perpich is an important tradition that embraces community, history, and the commitment to developing self and one’s connection to the arts and each other. Speakers include alumni as well as students and faculty. Our community of staff, faculty, students, and Board members are included in this tradition and all new members are recognized.

As with everything, COVID-19 forced us to rethink the format of this event. It was decided to hold one large virtual Dedication and three smaller, in-person Dedication events, one for each group of students. Our virtual ceremony was shared on October 12, 2020.

The ceremony featured speeches from students in all six art areas:
Dance: Meera Safford
Music: Elena Geffen
Theater: Myky Morgan
Literary: Savanna Ferrera
Media: Pieper Meccia
Visual: Leo Dunn

The event’s emcee was Bob Frey, Social Studies Instructor. The faculty speaker was Kevin Hohlstein, Music Instructor. The alumni speaker was Shania Matteson, Literary Arts 2000. The alumni performer was deVon Gray, Music 1998. The Dedication video was produced by Rebecca Bullen, Assistant Principal and Studio Arts Chair.
