9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Check in, Welcome, Introductions, Tour
10:05 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. – MS Drama
10:45 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. – MS Drama
11:20 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Lunch break for students
11:50 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. – MS Drama
12:20 p.m. – 12:35 p.m. – Travel to a nearby café for debrief and lunch (we each pay for our own lunch)
12:35 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Lunch and facilitated conversation (Sarah will be with us until 1:20 pm)

DESCRIPTION:
This day is a unique opportunity to a) inform your teaching practice through peer observation and discussion and b) form stronger connections with theater teachers nearby. To accomplish this,

1. We will observe Sarah Wojciechowski-Prill’s classes for middle school students. The themes for the day will be “building community, appreciating diverse thinking and creating opportunities that support positive self-esteem for middle school students (with a wide range of skills and abilities) in a drama classroom.” Think about your “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…” moments.
2. Following the classes, we’ll enjoy lunch together. Stephanie Lein Walseth will facilitate a discussion of our observations and other topics of interest to participants.
3. We will provide up-to-date COVID-19 protocols closer to November 10.
4. Take away new ideas and strategies for your own teaching!

DETAILS:
The day is hosted by Dr. Stephanie Lein Walseth, Theater Education Specialist of Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 5 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.

Note: The maximum number of participants is 10. Registration will close when we reach that number.
