DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL VISIT – PLAINVIEW-ELGIN-MILLVILLE (PEM)

DESCRIPTION:
This day is a unique opportunity to inform your teaching practice through peer observation and introduction to the new Minnesota standards in Music. To accomplish this,

1. We will observe Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Julie Buehler teach general music in grades 5 and 6, paying attention to areas such as instructional strategies, formative assessment, and/or teaching resources. Think about “Ah-ha!” and “I wonder…”
2. Following the classes, Wendy Barden will facilitate a discussion of our observations and details in the new Minnesota standards in Music.

Take away new ideas and strategies for your own teaching, plus a better understanding of new Music standards.

DETAILS:
The day is hosted by Dr. Wendy Barden, Music Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate. A certificate for 6 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.
Note: The maximum number of participants is 8. Registration will close when we reach that number.
