As part of the Theater Department, the Musical Theater Track at Perpich Arts High School offers additional specialized training for theater students with a passion for musical theater. This ensemble-based program fosters a strong sense of community, collaboration, and mutual support. It is high-energy, fun, and educational – providing a vibrant environment where students grow as artists and people.
Students in the Musical Theater Track don’t just learn the techniques of performance – they explore the history, context, and cultural significance of the works they study. They investigate the intent behind each piece, the role they play as performers, and how their interpretation contributes to the storytelling and emotional impact of the performance.
The program deepens students’ understanding of the musical theater art form – covering history, movement, musicianship, and performance practices. It is an intensive, structured program that includes after-school commitments for private voice lessons, as well as evening and weekend obligations for enrichment activities such as special performances and off-campus theater experiences.
This track supports students at all stages of their development – whether they are looking to engage more deeply with musical theater or are preparing for post-secondary education or a professional career in the field.
